1 YEAR SCREEN ACTING  PROGRAM

In order to get our students to the next level in their acting careers we have changed our classes into conservatory based programs. The Creative House New year long program is unlike any program on Long Island. Our programs not only include acting, they also include "The Business of Acting" and networking with industry professionals. The programs were designed by our acting coaches, who are professional working actors. Along with talent agents, managers and casting directors we put programs based on what they learned throughout their years in the industry. What they learned and what they wished they learned when starting their careers. The courses are intensive and focuses on equipping each student with the means to encompass the challenges of a demanding industry. By developing professional practices and incorporating it within a project driven approach of ‘learning by doing’.

This class is an enrichment opportunity highly recommended for any child actor serious breaking into the business, or just wanting to learn all the secrets and magic of television and film. Each class give the student the opportunity to have real television or film scripts assigned to them! Not only do they learn how to dissect and properly "action" each script, but at the end of every class they get their own mini audition mastered. The students will also be learning Script Interpretation/Acting Technique. This will teach each student the basic understanding of how to breakdown and learn the construction of a script, to better engage their imagination, to analyze text deeply and accurately, and to create rich, specific characters to harness into their own “actor’s toolbelt”. It is critical to learn of every technique, just as it is critical to be well read, and to know how to interpret what you are reading. Deconstruction is imperative for birth of character. Sensory, Physiological, and emotional realms are explored. Actors will create characters by drawing on their own emotions and memories, aided by a set of exercises and practices including sense memory and effective memory. Students work on a series of progressively complex exercises to develop an ability to first improvise, then to access an emotional life, and finally to bring the spontaneity of improvisation and the richness of personal response to textual work. A can't miss opportunity for anyone looking to break into the film and television industry.
